Dr. Brian Welle, DDS

Dr. Brian Welle commits himself to delivering quality dental care and a higher level of skill and training to meet your individual needs. His dedication to long-term oral health, comprehensive treatment, and exceptional care of his patients distinguish him from other dentists.
A native of the area, Dr. Welle grew up in Lake Elmo and attended Mahtomedi High School. His interest in dentistry led him to the University of Minnesota Morris, where he graduated with a BA in Biology. He continued his education by earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Minnesota Dental School, where he was recognized for his outstanding emergency endodontics (root canals) achievements. In 2007, Dr. Welle was 1 of 5 in the U.S. chosen for a general practice residency at Hennepin County Medical Center. After a year in his residency, he accepted an associateship in New Hope, where he practiced for five years.
Today, Dr. Welle is excited to be leading an exceptional team at Mahtomedi Family Dental.
When he's not taking care of patients, Dr. Welle enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids. His daughter is now in her 2nd year in college pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice, and his son is in his Senior year at high school. Dr. Welle loves to go up north and spend time on the trails in the side by side or snowmobiling, he loves to travel, and he loves to cut down trees!

Lisa
Licensed Dental Hygienist, LDH
Lisa graduated from Argosy University in 2005 with her dental hygiene license. She's been in the dental field since 2005 and with our dental practice since 2016. Lisa enjoys educating patients about their oral health and sharing helpful tips and tricks on more straightforward ways to make their mouths healthier.
She lives in Stillwater with her husband and young son. Her family enjoys traveling, spending time at the lake, and shopping, in their spare time.
Shelby
Licensed Dental Assistant, LDA
Shelby works side by side with Dr. Welle in taking care of patients during their dental procedures. She received her training at Herzing University, and she's been with our practice since 2018. The thing Shelby enjoys most about her job is the instant gratification she sees when helping to change someone's smile.
Shelby spends her free time with her two girls, friends, and her Boston terrier, Winston.
Alethia
Front Desk and Licensed Dental Assistant, LDA
Alethia has been at Mahtomedi Family Dental since 2016 but has been in the dental field since 2001. She received her training from Lakeland Dental and Medical Academy. She enjoys meeting new people and helping them understand how important their oral health is so they can feel excited about being at the dentist.
Alethia has two small children that keep her busy. She loves watching the Wild games with her husband Jay when she has time. They like to fish, go on bike rides, and watch sunsets at the lake as a family.
Angela
Accounts Manager
Angela has served in the dental field since 2007 and joined our dental practice in 2013. She received her training from Century College, and she assists our patients by coordinating their dental care while providing them with a better understanding of their dental benefits and payment options. She finds helping patients better understand their dental health to be very rewarding.
When she's not at the dental office, you'll find her spending time with her husband and three very active boys.
Jana , LDH
Licensed Dental Hygienist
Jana graduated from Century College in 2000 with a degree in Dental assisting. With a strong love and passion for dentistry she returned to Century College in 2005 to pursue her career as a Dental Hygienist. She truly enjoys helping her patients achieve a healthy smile and educating on ways they can improve their oral health at home and in between dental visits.
Jana resides in White Bear Lake with her husband and 2 sons. They enjoy attending all MN sporting events, soaking up as much time outdoors as possible and spending time with family and friends.
Claudia , LDH
Licensed Dental Hygienist
Claudia has been practicing as a Dental Hygienist since 2001. She joined our team in 2024. Claudia enjoys helping a wide variety of patients and enjoys seeing all ages.
When Claudia isn't working she loves spending time with her 2 wonderful, almost grown, children that are also busy with their jobs and college.
Anne , LDH
Licensed Dental Hygienist
Anne graduated with her Dental Hygiene degree from Des Moines Area Community College in 1985. She soon joined a practice in Red Wing, MN. After her 3 boys were born, she and her family moved to Mahtomedi where she has lived and practiced as a Dental Hygienist ever since. 11 years ago she expanded her dental career to include office duties and insurance administration. She is happy to share her combined knowledge of dentistry and preventative oral health care along with helping patients to understand insurance policies and benefits.
Anne loves to share stories about her 2 grandchildren with her patients. After practicing in the community for so many years, patients have become like family and providing comfort and care to them has made her career very rewarding.

Licensed Dental Hygienist
Marj received her Dental Hygiene degree from Mankato State University in 1989. She practiced for 10 years in South Minneapolis, then moved to Mahtomedi where she has been working since. Marj loves to see the improvements her patients make when they understand the importance of their oral health.
She lives in Mahtomedi with her husband. They love to travel, go to the family cabin, and spend time with family.

Licensed Dental Assistant
Jen has been a Dental Assistant since 2007 in both family practices and larger companies. After her experience in both she found that a family practice suited her best. Jen enjoys learning new dental technology and ways to make her patients feel comfortable during their dental appointment.
Jen resides in Oakdale with her husband, daughter, son, their rescue dog Luna and 2 cats. When she's not busy with work or on the soccer field between their 2 kids, they enjoy fishing, going up to the cabin, and enjoying any Country concert.
Cherie
Front Office, Sterile Tech
Cherie has been at Mahtomedi Family Dental since 2024. Prior to joining us she worked for the State of Minnesota as Human Resources Director and Senior Accounting Officer. She enjoys helping patients and staff in any way necessary to ensure the best possible customer experience.
Cherie spends her free time with her son, family and friends. She enjoys geocaching, yoga, going to the beach and playing video games.
